NOTE: These features apply specifically to the OptiSigns Pro and ProMax players unless otherwise noted.
Security Features of the OptiSigns Pro and ProMax Players
The OptiSigns Pro and ProMax players are single purpose devices, designed specifically to be used with OptiSigns digital signage software.
They ship with the features below, and no additional add-ons or costs are required.
Tamper-Proof Case
Physically tamper-resistant, the Pro and ProMax players are difficult for bad actors to compromise. A Kensington lock can be easily fitted to prevent theft. The BIOS and USB ports can be locked, preventing more drives from being attached.
Enterprise WiFi Support
An OptiSigns Pro or ProMax player supports Enterprise 802.1x WiFi, enabling secure connection to these networks. They are capable of accessing these networks with credentials and self-signed certificates. In addition, they can be configured and granted access to internal networks in order to display internal communications if desired.
Lockdown Mode
Any OptiSigns-enabled device can be locked down when not in use with access to the OptiSigns portal. This is primarily used for kiosks, where you do not want your users to deactivate the OptiSigns player. This can be enabled on any OptiSigns device, not just the Pro and ProMax players.
Disk Encryption
With a Pro or ProMax player, you can enable your device to run in Encrypted mode. This prevents data loss by encrypting the whole drive, including operating system, program, temporary, and end user files. In order to gain access to any of this data, someone will need to input a password you provide upon encrypting the device.
Master Passwords
OptiSigns apps provide the option to provide a Master Password. These create an encryption at the source and prevent anyone, even OptiSigns, from being able to decipher any inputted passwords. This feature is available on any OptiSigns player.
When you input your Username and Password into any OptiSigns app, it is utilized as a Web Script. This script is encrypted at your browser, and transferred securely using HTTPS/SSL during transits and stored on our servers.
It is then sent via the same method to devices, and decrypted at device level before executing on the target website.
If you want to add additional security by utilizing a Master Password and our Zero Knowledge Encryption framework, you will have to enter your Master Password when:
- Creating/editing assets
- One time on each device, so it will know how to decrypt
These can be enabled on each individual device, and ensures no one can decrypt your password under any circumstance.
Static IP
OptiSigns Pro and ProMax players allow users to create a static IP address for device networking. This improves reliability, network management, and, of course, security. Static IPs can be set per device and configured manually before deployment.
SAML SSO Login and Team Assignments
The OptiSigns platform has a variety of security features to compliment its players, allowing you and your organization complete control over who has access to which device. These features apply to any OptiSigns player.
- SAML 2.0 SSO Login - Can be configured through the mechanism of your choice, including MS Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta, OneLogin, etc.
- User Roles and Teams - Configured manually to grant permissions based on need.
- Folder Security - Only allow certain team members to access certain asset folders, or groups of screens/devices.
Regular Security Patches and Support
Our team stays on top of the latest security protocols, and regularly pushes updates with security patches and hotfixes. New features are regularly added to continually improve security.
